The Annual Parish Meeting

Join us! Our annual luncheon will begin the gathering, with chicken tenders as the main
entree. Guests are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Coffee, tea & lemonade will be provided.
Following the luncheon, will be the meeting, where Vestry elections will be conducted and Ministry Chairs will give their reports. This is the perfect opportunity to learn myriad of activities at St James and put a finger on the pulse of our church itself, and in our community.
Ministry chairs are asked to please submit their reports to Cathy by email, on or before January. 17th. If you have any questions in regards to your report, please give Cathy a call.

Vestry Requirements and Responsibilities
*Attend monthly Vestry meetings on the fourth Thursday of the month at 5:00pm.
*Be familiar with the Core Values, Mission and Goals of Saint James' Episcopal Church.
*Serve a three year term.
*Has been faithful in corporate worship, and in working, praying, and giving for the spread of
the Kingdom of God.
*Participate in one vestry committee: Ministry, Administration, or Property.
*Assist in financial and administrative decisions.
*Serve as Vestry person of the Day and Counter on Sundays.
*Attend a Vestry retreat.
*Attend a 3-hour Safeguarding God's Children training.
*Attend a 3-hour Safeguarding God's People training.
(The next Safeguarding God's People training will be Tuesday, January 29th at 2pm in the Parish hall. )
*Agree to the Diocese of Texas' Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment.
*Attend to concerns, questions, and requests that are directed to the Vestry by the
congregation, staff, and community.
*Subscribe to the following declaration required by the canons of the Episcopal Diocese of
"I am persuaded that the Holy Scriptures contain all doctrine required as necessary for
salvation through faith in Jesus Christ; and I accede to the Doctrine, Discipline,
and Worship ofthe Protestant Episcopal Church."
